Every Saturday, Minh wakes up at seven o'clock. He has breakfast with his mum and dad. They eat bread and drink milk. After breakfast, Minh does his homework. He is good at maths but he doesn't like history. At ten o'clock, he plays football in the park with his friends. In the afternoon, he is reading a book now. It is about a funny dog. Tomorrow, he is going to the cinema with his family.
Last Sunday, Nam (a) to the park with (b) family. They (c) got two dogs. Nam (d) like rain, but now it (e) sunny. They are very happy!
Hi! I'm Lan. I live in Ha Noi with my family. On school days, I get up at 6 and go to school at 7. I study hard because I want good marks. After school, I do my homework before I play. My favourite subject is maths.
Hello! I'm Nam. I live in Ha Noi too. On weekdays I get up at 6:30. I walk to school with my friend Minh. I like English best because I want to travel one day. After school I play football first, then I do homework.
Last Saturday, I went to a music festival with my family. It was in Da Nang, near the beach. The weather was warm and sunny. Many people were dancing and singing. I saw a famous singer from Ha Noi. She was wearing a red dress. I took many photos with my new camera. My sister bought a T-shirt, but I didn't want one because they were too expensive. We had fish and rice for lunch. It was the best day of my holiday!

My grandmother lives on a small farm. Every summer, my brother and I stay with her for two weeks. We love it there, but the first day is always difficult. There is no WiFi and no TV. At first, I felt bored. However, by the second day, my brother and I were playing with the chickens, helping Ba collect eggs, and swimming in the lake. When it was time to go home, I didn't want to leave!
Is the new RoboFriend toy really worth the money? I bought one for my son last week, and I am disappointed. Yes, it can dance and tell jokes. Yes, it looks like the cute robot in the advertisement. But after only three days, the battery does not work well. My son has stopped playing with it. For the same price, you can buy a much better toy. Save your money!
Last year, my school organised a Science Fair for the first time. Students from grades four, five and six could join. I'm in grade six, so I decided to take part. I worked with my best friend, Huy, for three weeks. We chose to make a model of a volcano because we wanted to show how lava erupts.
The project wasn't easy. We had to read many books about volcanoes, buy materials, and practise our presentation. On the day of the fair, I was very nervous. There were more than fifty people in the audience. However, when we started our presentation, I felt confident because we had practised so many times.
We didn't win the first prize, but we got a special award for the most creative project. Next year, if I have more time, I will definitely join again with a better idea!

Many children today spend more time on smartphones than on books. However, reading is still one of the most important skills for young minds. When you read a good book, you do not just learn new words. You step into another world, meet new characters, and see things from different points of view.
Scientists have found that children who read for just 20 minutes a day do better in school, have bigger vocabularies, and can concentrate for longer. Reading also helps with feelings: when you read about a character who is sad or happy, you learn to understand those feelings in real life, too.
So the next time you have free time, try opening a book instead of your phone. Your brain ยท and your heart ยท will thank you.
Every morning, I see the same thing at the school gate: students with their eyes glued to a phone. Many principals now believe we should ban phones during school hours. I strongly agree ยท and so should every parent.
First, research from the University of London shows that students score 6% higher on exams when phones are banned. Second, I have seen with my own eyes how phones destroy concentration. Students who check their phones every few minutes never really listen to a full lesson.
Some argue that phones are useful for learning. Of course they can be. But students can use school computers. Phones in pockets are a distraction, not a tool. Until we remove them, the classroom will never win against the screen.
